Help on using our Forum

What is our forum for?

The forum allows you and your peers a chance to swap ideas, recipes and discuss live, the issues affecting the food trade today.
There are many subject areas you can discuss, e.g. engineering problems, recipes, general help and advice, etc...

How is the forum organised?

The forum is divided up into main areas like "Engineering and machinery issues", "Recipes", etc... When you click on a subject, you see a number of topics - these are the subjects that are being discussed at the moment.

Clicking on a topic name allows you to read all the messages in that topic.

Do I have to register to use the forum?

You can read all the messages on the forum without registering, but you will not be able to reply to any of them, or start a new topic of discussion.

How do I register?

Just go to the main forum page and click on "Register" near the top-right of the screen

You just supply your email address, and give a username and password you will use for logging in.

Note : The forum is completely separate from the main Buyit site - even if you are already registered with the main site, you will have to register separately for the forum.

How do I reply to a message I have seen?

Just go to the page containing the message and click on the "Post Reply" button, which is above the first message.
Enter your message, and click on "Submit"

How do I start a new topic?

If you have a new question to ask or you want to talk about something else, go to the main subject area it will be in, and click on the "new topic" button.
Then fill in the subject that the topic will be about, put in your message, and click "Submit"

What are the Forum rules?

The rules are common sense - just behave in a reasonable way towards other users. Anyone causing problems will be banned from the forum, and their messages removed.
